Voorleggings

Die instruksies aan outeurs oor hoe om nuwe bydraes vir die Tydskrif vir Christelike wetenskap in te dien, word in hierdie afdeling vervat. Die prosedure vir die her-indiening van ʼn manuskrip (volgende op keuring), deur weer van die aanlyn voorlegging-sisteem gebruik te maak, word onder Instruksies vir her-indiening gevind.

Redaksionele beleid maak daarvoor voorsiening dat die opsporing van plagiarisme ondermeer deur middel van die program Authenticate gedoen word.

Voorlegging van oorspronklike werk

Outeurs word versoek om slegs oorspronklike bydraes voor te lê, wat werk behels

  • wat nie op oorspronklikheid aanspraak maak nie, terwyl soortgelyke werk deur andere alreeds gerapporteer is;
  • wat op ʼn eerlike manier uitgevoer is, streng in ooreenstemming met toepaslike wetenskaplike vereistes en standaarde en nie op ʼn oneerlike of bedrieglike wyse nie;
  • wat genoegsame detail en verwysing na openbare bronne bevat, sodat dit eweknieë in staat stel om die werk te herhaal, indien nodig;
  • wat ʼn akkurate weergawe bevat van die navorsing wat uitgevoer is en die resultate opgelewer, om ʼn objektiewe bespreking van die betekenis daarvan moontlik te maak;
  • wat die data akkuraat rapporteer, ook op so ʼn wyse dat probleem-areas met diskreetheid hanteer word;
  • waarin die verwysings behoorlik gesiteer word, met die plig op die outeur, om te verseker dat dit versigtig en akkuraat in die vereiste formaat gedoen is;
  • wat die nodige erkenning aan die bevindinge en die werk van andere wat ʼn invloed op die proses gehad het verleen;
  • wat die direkte toestemming vir die gebruik van inligting wat privaat van individue verkry was bevat; die toestemming vir die insluiting van sodanige inligting mag aangevra word;
  • wat alle bewyse van verklarings bevat dat die eksperimentele protokol goedgekeur en uitgevoer is in ooreenstemming met die riglyne van die relevante agente;
  • wat nie materiaal bevat waarin plagiaat voorkom nie, of materiaal wat onbehoorlik of aanstootlik, of op enige wyse onwettig is, en wat nie op die regte van ander inbreuk maak nie;
  • wat nie die resultaat van gefragmenteerde navorsing is nie, ten einde die aantal artikels te vermeerder;
  • wat nie aan ander tydskrifte of publikasies voorgelê is nie.

 

Let daarop

Eksperimentele of teoretiese studie mag in bepaalde omstandighede wel kritiese refleksie op die denke en werk van ʼn ander wetenskaplike regverdig. Persoonlike kritiek sal egter nie geduld word nie.

 

Dekblad

Die dekblad vorm deel van die voorlegging, wat op die eerste bladsy van die manuskrip geplaas word. Dit moet in dieselfde taal wees as dié waarin die manuskrip aangebied word. Die volgende moet verstrek word:

  • Titel van artikel: Die titel moet kort en verduidelikend wees.
  • Outeursbesonderhede: Die titel, volle name, posisies, affiliasies en kontakbesonderhede (adres, e-pos) van elke outeur word benodig.
  • Korresponderende outeur: Die outeur aan wie die korrespondensie gerig moet word.
  • Verklaring: Die getal woorde, bladsye, tabelle, figure of enige ander bykomende materiaal moet verklaar word.
  • Opsomming: ʼn Opsomming, wat ʼn beknopte samevatting van die inhoud van die artikel bevat, word vereis. Die opsomming moet in beide die taal waarin die artikel voorgelê, sowel as enigeen van die ander twee tale waarvoor voorsien word, opgestel word.

 

Formaat-vereistes

Waar ʼn artikel in Engels aangebied word, moet van Britse Engels gebruik gemaak word. Die Oxford English Dictionary moet geraadpleeg word. Die outeur(s) se weergawe van MS-Word moet dienooreenkomstig aangepas word.

 

Taal

Manuskripte kan in enige van die volgende aangebied word: Afrikaans, (Britse) Engels of Nederlands.

 

Formaat

Lettertipe: Arial
Simbool lettertipe: Arial
Algemene lettergrootte: 10 pt

 

Lynspasie:

1.5

 

Opskrifte

'n Manuskrip moet georden word deur die konsekwente gebruik van opskrifte.
Eerste opskrif: gewone lettertipe, vetdruk en 14 pt
Tweede opskrif: kursief, vetdruk en 12 pt
Derde opskrif: kursief, nie-vetdruk en 12 pt
Vierde opskrif: gewone lettertipe, vetdruk en 11 pt

 

Numerering

Opskrifte moet volgens Arabiese styl genommer word tot op die derde vlak, bv. 1, 1.1, 1.1.1, maar die vierde vlak ongenommerd.

 

Grafika

Grafika, wat diagramme, tabelle, sketse en voorstellings insluit, voorberei in enige rekenaarprogram, moet in jpeg-formaat gestoor en elektronies gestuur word, met vermelding van die lêernaam. Die lettertipe waarvan gebruik gemaak word, moet by die voorgeskrewe lettertipe van die tydskrif aangepas word.

 

Publikasie-etiek

Dit word van outeurs wat bydraes aan die Tydskrif vir Christelike wetenskap voorlê verwag om aan streng etiese prosedures en standaarde te voldoen.

Plagiarisme

Plagiarisme in enige vorm is onaanvaarbaar en sal nie toegelaat word nie. Redaksionele beleid maak daarvoor voorsiening dat artikels ondermeer deur middel van die program Authenticate gefynkam word.

Publikasiegelde

Voornemende outeurs word daarop attent gemaak dat ten opsigte van gepubliseerde artikels publikasiegelde gehef sal word, wat deur die tersiêre instelling waaraan 'n outeur verbonde is betaalbaar sal wees.

Die publikasiegeld beloop tans R250,00 per bladsy.

How to start the submission
This procedure should also be followed in the event of re-submission (following peer reviewal)

 

Submission of original work

Authors are requested to submit only original contributions, which implies work

  • which do not claim to be original, whilst similar work by others have already been reported;
  • that have been conducted honestly and strictly in accordance with appropriate scientific requirements and standards and was not produced in a dishonest or fraudulent way;
  • which contain sufficient detail and reference to public sources so that it enables peers to repeat the work, if necessary;
  • which represent an accurate account of the research carried out and the results yielded, to provide for objective discussion of the significance thereof;
  • which accurately report the data, also in such a way that problem areas are treated with discretion;
  • where the references are properly cited, with the duty on the author to ensure that it is done carefully and accurately and in the required format;
  • that gives the necessary credit to the findings and work of others that had an influence on the proceedings;
  • contain the outright permission for information which was obtained privately from individuals; the relevant consent to the inclusion of such information may be requested;
  • which include all statements of proof that the experimental protocols were approved and executed in accordance with the guidelines of the relevant agencies;
  • that do not contain material which was plagiarised or material that is improper or obscene or in any way unlawful, and that the rights of others are not infringed;
  • which is not the result of fragmented research in order to multiply the number of articles; and
  • that have not been submitted to other journals or publication media.

 

To be noted

The experimental or theoretical study may in certain instances justify a critical reflection on the thought or work of another scientist. Personal criticism will, however, not be tolerated.

 

Cover page:

The cover page forms part of the submission, which must be located on the first page of the manuscript. It should be in the same language in which the manuscript is presented. The following should be provided:

  • Article title: The title should be short and explanatory;
  • Authors’ details: The title(s), full name(s), position(s), affiliation(s) and contact details (address, email) of each author are required;
  • Corresponding author: To which one of the authors should correspondence be addressed to.
  • Summary: The number of words, pages, tables, figures or any supplementary material are to be stated;
  • Abstract: An abstract which is a concise summary of content of the article submitted, is required. The abstract should be both in the language of presentation, as well as any one of the other two languages provided for.

 

Formatting requirements:

Where the article is to be presented in English, only British English should be used. The Oxford English Dictionary is to be consulted in this regard. The author(s)’s version of MS-Word is to be adjusted to UK English accordingly.

 

Language:

Manuscripts are to be presented in either one of the following: (British) English, Afrikaans or Dutch.

 

Font:

Font type: Arial
Symbols font type: Arial
General font size: 10pt

 

Line spacing:

1.5

 

Headings:

The manuscript should be structured through the consistent use of headings.

 

First heading: normal case, bold and 14 pt.
Second heading: italicized, bold and 12 pt.
Third heading: italicized, not bold  and 12 pt.
Fourth heading: normal case, bold and 11 pt.

 

Numbering:

Headings should be numbered according to Arabic style down to the third level e.g. 1, 1.1, 1.1.1, but with the fourth not numbered.

 

Graphics

Graphics, which include diagrams, tables, sketches and explications prepared in any computor program, must be saved in ‘jpeg’ format and submitted as an attachment, with an indication of the pages in the manuscript were each is to be incorporated. The letter type used, must be adapted to that of the journal.

 

Publication ethics

It is expected from authors who submit contributions to The Journal for Christian scholarship to adhere to sound ethical procedures and standards.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.  Editorial policy provides for the screening of articles by using the program Authenticate amongst others.

Publication fees

Prospecting authors in South Africa should take note that with regard to published articles a publication fee will be imposed, which will be payable by the tertiary institution to which an author is connected to.

The currant publication fee amounts to R250,00 per page
